Pocket Monsters Pokemon New Manga

The December issue of Shogakukan’s Coro Coro Comics magazine revealed on Friday that the the new Pocket Monsters anime will have a manga adaptation. Machito Gomi will draw the new manga. Gomi posted a photo of the magazine announcement on their Twitter account.

Gomi also drew a manga adaptation of the Pokemon: Mewtwo Returns (Pocket Monster: Myuutsu! Ware wa Koko ni Ari) television anime special and the Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution film.

The new anime will premiere on TV Tokyo and its affiliates on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. as an “expanded live broadcast special.” The series will then air on Sundays at 6:00 p.m., the same timeslot as Pokémon Sun & Moon.

The new series will feature two protagonists: Satoshi (Ash) and the new character Gō. Gō’s partner Pokémon is the starter Pokémon Hibunny (Scorbunny) from the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games. Daiki Yamashita voices the character Gō. Gō is 10 years old, and his dream is to capture all Pokémon.
