The movie opened on Friday on 313 screens, and bought 224,000 tickets on Saturday-Sunday and earned 283 million yen (about US$2.59 million) on these two days. From Friday to Sunday the movie earned 422,479,000 yen (about US$3.86 million). Eiga.com expects that the movie might earn greater than the primary movie, My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, relying on how the movie performs throughout the New Year’s holiday. My Hero Academia: Two Heroes earned a complete of 1.72 billion yen (about US$15.7 million) in Japan.
As with the earlier My Hero Academia: Two Heroes movie, Horikoshi had total supervision of the movie, and dealt with the unique character designs. Kenji Nagasaki and Yousuke Kuroda returned from the sequence and the earlier movie because the director and scriptwriter, respectively. Yoshihiko Umakoshi returned to design the characters, and Yuuki Hayashi as soon as once more composed the music. BONES animated the movie. Rock band sumika carried out the theme song “Higher Ground.”
